Meet Some Of Our Members
Each of our members has a story about what got them started and how they have changed. Here are a few of them.
Rachel was a runner whose main focus was cardio until she was sidelined by an ankle sprain. She realized during her rehab how important it was to incorporate strength training into her workouts. Her aunt encouraged her to try Fenton Fitness and she was instantly attracted to the Love Your Jeans Challenge.
Rachel lost a total of 7 lbs and 4 inches. Now an annual Team Training member, Rachel is a morning class regular who has a new appreciation for functional fitness training.
“I was motivated to join the challenge because of my inability to run. I thought this would be a good way to incorporate all aspects of living a healthy life. At the end of the 8 weeks, what I loved most was the social aspect of the challenge. The motivation, encouragement, and support of the other members was motivating. It was so much easier than trying to start my own routine!”—Rachel Romanack
“The Suburban Commando Challenge is exactly what the doctor, and my wife, ordered. Thank you Fenton Fitness for showing me how to change my life, step-by-step, day-by-day.”
Don had tried several gyms and programs over the years but none were sustainable. He knew he had to exercise at least three times a week to lower his weight, blood pressure, and triglycerides, but every attempt failed shortly after starting.
“The first day I started the challenge at Fenton Fitness, I was hooked! I played sports up through college and thrived on the competition. Having a group of men to work out with every morning, to challenge me and hold me accountable, made me not want to miss. The trainers gave us real life exercises that were applicable to daily life and sports. I started feeling better and actually watched what I ate knowing too well how it would affect my next workout.”
Don is now an annual Semi-Private training member who has continued his early morning routine three days a week. “I really like the focus of Fenton Fitness and the exercises are exactly what I need to feel good and function properly.”—Don Stilson
“I had a membership to the cheap gym in town which provided access to some equipment but no access to the knowledge that I was sorely lacking.”
Kirk was a Fenton Physical Therapy patient who suffered nagging injuries from a life of sports. Determined to run the 2016 Fall 50 Ultra-Marathon, he sought the advice of Mike O’Hara and eventually progressed to Fenton Fitness where he now trains under the expert programming of Jeff Tirrell.
“While you can work on your own and look up information on the internet, nothing compares to the intelligent coaching and encouraging atmosphere created by Mike, Jeff, and the team at Fenton Fitness.”—Kirk Wiley
